How to use the Graphing Calculator

Plot one or more functions like sin(x) or x^2 on an interactive, zoomable graph.

  1. 1 Type functions of x in the boxes, such as x^2/4 - 2.
  2. 2 Drag to pan and scroll or use the buttons to zoom.
  3. 3 Hover over the graph to read the value of every function at that x.

Example and practical tips

Plot sin(x) and x/3 together and hover where they cross to estimate the solutions of sin(x) = x/3.

Frequently asked questions

Which functions are supported?

Powers, roots, sin, cos, tan and their inverses, logarithms, exp, abs, floor, ceil and constants pi and e.

Why are there gaps in a curve?

Gaps appear where a function is undefined, such as 1/x at x = 0 or sqrt(x) for negative x.
