The division calculator gives much more than a rounded answer. It shows the exact decimal, marking repeating digits in brackets (so 100 ÷ 7 = 14.(285714)), the result as a simplified fraction, the whole-number quotient and remainder for integer division, and the answer rounded to as many decimal places as you choose.

Frequently asked questions
What do the brackets in the exact decimal mean?
Digits in brackets repeat forever. 1 ÷ 3 = 0.(3) means 0.333… with the 3 repeating endlessly.
Why can't I divide by zero?
Division by zero is undefined: no number multiplied by 0 gives a non-zero result, so there is no valid answer.
What is a remainder?
When dividing whole numbers, the remainder is what is left over. 100 ÷ 7 is 14 with 2 left over, because 7 × 14 = 98.
