How to use the Square Calculator

Squaring a number means multiplying it by itself. The square calculator does this exactly for any number, including decimals, negative numbers and very large values, and also shows the cube (the number multiplied by itself three times) and the result in scientific notation.

  1. 1 Enter a number.
  2. 2 Read its square, cube and scientific notation.
  3. 3 Use the square root calculator to go the other way.

Example and practical tips

12.5² = 12.5 × 12.5 = 156.25, and 12.5³ = 1,953.125.
