Accessibility & ADA Commitment
We want everyone to be able to use ToolzHive.
ToolzHive is committed to improving access for people with disabilities. Our technical accessibility target is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
Current assessment status
Accessibility improvements are in progress. We have not completed a comprehensive accessibility assessment of every tool and workflow. We do not currently claim full WCAG conformance or that the website is “ADA compliant.”
Our work is informed by the U.S. Department of Justice guidance on web accessibility and the ADA. This statement describes our accessibility efforts; it is not a certification.
Using the website
Open the “Accessibility” button at the bottom of any main website page to use profiles, text size and spacing, contrast modes, smart text contrast, saturation, readable fonts, cursor aids, tooltips, line height, text alignment, animation controls, page-structure navigation and dictionary lookup. You can enlarge, move, hide or reset the widget. Open it with Ctrl+U (Option+U on Mac). Preferences are stored locally in your browser. These settings support individual preferences and do not replace accessibility improvements to the website itself.
- Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between links and controls, and Enter or Space to activate buttons. A visible outline identifies keyboard focus.
- The “Skip to content” link lets keyboard users move past the site navigation.
- Use your browser's zoom and text-size settings. ToolzHive does not disable browser zoom.
- Set your device to reduce motion to limit decorative animations. Light and dark themes are available from the header.
- Calculator fields use labels, and selected calculators announce updated results to assistive technology.
The main menu labels are available in English, Spanish and Urdu; this does not translate website content. “Dyslexia Friendly” applies a readable system font as a personal preference. “Screen Reader” provides browser read-aloud assistance, not a replacement for a full screen reader. Dictionary lookup opens Wiktionary in a separate tab. Smart Contrast adjusts text on supported solid backgrounds; images, gradients and complex backgrounds still need individual testing.
Areas that still need evaluation
We still need to complete manual screen-reader testing, a site-wide contrast and zoom review, and testing with people with disabilities. Visual editors, charts, timed activities, generated files and externally embedded widgets need individual assessment. Downloaded PDFs and other generated documents are not currently guaranteed to be accessible.
Report an accessibility barrier
If you have trouble using a page or tool, contact us about accessibility. Include the page URL, what you were trying to do, what happened and, if you wish, the browser or assistive technology you used. Tell us what alternative format or assistance would help. Please do not include sensitive personal information.
