Credentials stay in your browser in browser mode. In server mode they are passed through our server to the API and are never stored or logged.
Form fields
The body is ignored for GET and HEAD requests. Files can only be sent from your browser.
History
Browser mode sends requests directly from your device, so it can reach localhost and private APIs, but the API must allow cross-origin (CORS) requests. Server mode works with any public HTTPS or HTTP API on the standard ports, but not with private or local addresses.

How to use the Online REST API Client
Send GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE requests with headers, auth and JSON bodies, and inspect the response.
- 1 Choose the method, enter the URL and add query parameters, headers, authentication and a body.
- 2 Choose to send from your browser (CORS APIs and localhost) or our server (any public API), then click Send or press Ctrl + Enter.
- 3 Inspect the status, time, size, pretty body and headers, and copy ready-made code from the Code tab.
Example and practical tips
POST a JSON body to https://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/posts and you get 201 Created with the new record. Open the Code tab to copy the same request as cURL for your terminal.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my request fail in browser mode?
Browsers block requests to APIs that do not allow cross-origin requests (CORS). Switch Send from to our server for public APIs.
Are my tokens stored?
Requests history stays in your browser only. In server mode, headers pass through our server to the API and are never stored or logged.
Can I call localhost or a private API?
Yes, in browser mode, as long as the API allows CORS. Server mode can only reach public addresses.
