About this tool

How to use BIN Checker

  1. Enter the first 6 to 8 digits of the card number. Never enter the full number.
  2. Click Look up BIN.
  3. Review the issuer and card details.

Worked example

Shops use BIN lookups to spot orders where the card’s issuing country does not match the shipping country, a common sign of fraud.

What is a BIN?

The bank identification number (also called IIN) is the first 6 to 8 digits of a card number and identifies the issuer and card product.

Why was no result found?

Some BINs are new, private or not in the public database. Try the first 6 digits instead of 8.
