How to Use Dead Pixel Test

Find dead or stuck pixels by cycling full-screen black, white, red, green and blue, then try to revive stuck pixels with a fast-flashing pixel fixer.

About this tool

Find dead or stuck pixels on your screen with full-screen color cycles, and try to fix them.

How to use Dead Pixel Test

  1. Clean the screen, then click Start the test.
  2. Click through each color and look for dots that never change.
  3. For a stuck pixel, open the pixel fixer, drag the flashing square over it and leave it running for 10–30 minutes.

Worked example

A green dot that stays green on every color is a stuck pixel; running the fixer over it sometimes brings it back. A dot that stays black is dead and usually cannot be fixed.

What is the difference between dead and stuck pixels?

A dead pixel is always black. A stuck pixel stays one color because a sub-pixel is always on.

Is the fixer safe?

It is safe for the screen, but it flashes quickly. Do not use it if you are sensitive to flashing lights.
