About this tool

Standard interior, exterior, closet, sliding and garage door sizes.

How to use Door Sizes

  1. Find the door type in the tables.
  2. Compare widths and heights.
  3. Remember the rough opening is about 2 in wider and 2.5 in taller.

Worked example

A standard US interior door is 30 or 32 × 80 in; a wheelchair-accessible door is 36 in wide.

Are door sizes the same in every country?

No. The US, UK and Europe use different standard sizes, so check the chart for your region and the product’s own measurements.

Why do inches and centimeters not match exactly?

Products are made to round numbers in one system, so the other system’s figures are rounded conversions.
