About this tool
The HTML table generator lets you build a table visually instead of typing tags by hand. Set the number of rows and columns, type into the cells or paste a range straight from Excel or Google Sheets, turn the first row into a header, add a caption and optional basic styles, and copy clean, accessible table code with a live preview.
How to use HTML Table Generator
- Choose the number of rows and columns.
- Type into the grid, or paste cells copied from a spreadsheet into any cell.
- Toggle the header row, styles and caption, then copy the HTML.
Worked example
Paste a 5 × 3 range of sales figures from Excel into the first cell and the grid expands to fit. The tool outputs a table with a <thead> header row, ready for a blog post.
Why use a <thead> header row?
Header cells (<th>) tell screen readers and search engines what each column contains, making tables more accessible.
Can I paste from Excel or Google Sheets?
Yes. Copied cells are tab-separated, and the generator fills the grid from the cell you paste into.
Are the styles required?
No. Turn off basic styles to get plain HTML that uses your site's own CSS.
