About this tool
Resize images to exact pixel dimensions or by percentage.
How to use Image Resizer
- Select an image. Width and Height initially show its original pixel dimensions.
- Enter a new width or height with Keep aspect ratio enabled, or choose a Quick scale percentage. Disable the ratio lock only if you want independent dimensions.
- Select PNG, JPG or WEBP and review the preview dimensions before clicking Download resized image.
Worked example
A 1600 by 900 image becomes 800 by 450 at 50% scale. With the ratio lock enabled, entering a width of 1200 gives a height of 675.
Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions
Enter the required Width and Height. Keeping aspect ratio enabled changes the other dimension automatically. For a target with different proportions, crop first to avoid stretching the subject.
Resize without stretching
Keep aspect ratio enabled. A 2400 × 1600 image resized to 1200 pixels wide becomes 1200 × 800. Crop first if you need a different shape.
Pixel dimensions versus file size
A smaller width usually reduces the amount of image data, but it does not guarantee a specific file size. Use Image Compressor afterward when an upload has a size limit.
Does resizing crop my image?
No. The whole image is resampled into the chosen dimensions. Independent width and height values can stretch it. Use the image cropper when you need to remove edges or change composition.
Will enlarging a photo add detail?
No. Increasing pixel dimensions interpolates the existing image; it does not recover missing detail. The 150% shortcut enlarges the image but is not an AI upscaler.
Which output should I choose?
Choose PNG or WebP when you need transparency. JPG output fills transparent areas with white. Very large dimensions can exceed your browser or device memory even within the controls’ allowed range.
Image processing on your device
The selected image is resized in your browser. Its contents are not uploaded by this tool.
