About this tool
Convert IPv4 and IPv6 addresses to decimal, hex and binary numbers, and back.
How to use IP to Decimal Converter
Paste one IP address or decimal number per line.
The results appear instantly as you type.
Copy the output for databases, firewall rules or programming.
Worked example
192.168.1.1 becomes 3232235777 in decimal and 0xC0A80101 in hex. Entering 3232235777 on its own line converts it back to 192.168.1.1.
Why store IP addresses as numbers?
Numbers sort correctly and make range checks simple, which is why databases and GeoIP files often store IPv4 addresses as 32-bit integers.
How large are IPv6 numbers?
IPv6 addresses are 128-bit numbers of up to 39 decimal digits, so they need big-integer support in most programming languages.
