Does converting give my device an IPv6 address?
No. These are fixed ways of writing an IPv4 address inside IPv6. A real IPv6 address is assigned by your network.
Which format do programs show?
Dual-stack software often shows IPv4 clients as IPv4-mapped addresses, such as ::ffff:203.0.113.5, in logs.
