About this tool
The mock data generator creates realistic fake records for testing apps, seeding databases and building demos. Add fields and pick types such as names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, companies, prices, UUIDs, dates, booleans and text, then generate up to 1,000 rows and export them as JSON, CSV, SQL INSERT statements or XML.
How to use Mock Data Generator
- Add fields, give each a name and choose its data type.
- Set the number of rows and choose JSON, CSV, SQL or XML (with a table name for SQL).
- Click Generate data, then copy or download the result.
Worked example
Fields id, first_name, email and signup_date with 100 rows and SQL format give 100 INSERT statements to seed a users table, with each email matching the person's name.
Is the generated data real?
No. It is random and fictional. Emails use reserved example domains, phone numbers use the 555 test range and web addresses use the .example domain.
Can I use it for load testing?
Yes, for up to 1,000 rows per run. For larger datasets, generate several times or use the data as a template.
Does it follow my database types?
Numbers and booleans are unquoted and strings are escaped for SQL, but check the column types in your schema.
