How to Use PDF Splitter

Split a PDF into page ranges, groups of N pages or one file per page. Extract the pages you need and download PDFs processed in your browser.

About this tool

Extract pages or split a PDF by page ranges.

How to use PDF Splitter

  1. Select a PDF and check the displayed page count. Page numbers start at 1.
  2. Choose Extract page ranges, Split every N pages or One file per page. For ranges, enter comma-separated pages or ranges and choose whether to create separate files.
  3. Click Split & download. If multiple files are created, allow multiple downloads when your browser asks, then check the exported PDFs.

Worked example

For a document with at least five pages, enter 1-3, 5 to extract the first three pages and page five. With Separate files enabled, this creates two PDFs; otherwise those four pages go into one PDF.

Split a PDF every 2 pages

Choose Split every N pages and enter 2. A seven-page document produces four downloads: pages 1–2, 3–4, 5–6 and page 7. Check the final short group when preparing paired handouts or scanned forms.

Can I split into equal-sized groups?

Choose Split every N pages and enter the number of pages per file. The final file contains the remaining pages if the total does not divide evenly.

Why did I receive only one download?

Without Separate files, range extraction creates a single PDF. Other modes can trigger several downloads, which your browser may block until you grant permission. The output is not a ZIP archive.

Does splitting remove pages from my original?

No. The tool creates new PDFs in your browser. Your original document remains unchanged; protected or unreadable PDFs may not open successfully.
