How to Use Plagiarism Checker

Compare your writing with pasted source text, highlight shared phrases and download a matched-word report. Private browser processing; no web scan.

About this tool

Find matching word sequences between your writing and a supplied reference. Use the highlighted passages to review quotations, citations and possible copied wording.

How to use Plagiarism Checker

  1. Paste your writing and the source text, up to 100,000 characters each.
  2. Choose the minimum matching phrase length and click Check for matches.
  3. Review highlighted passages and citations, then download the comparison report if needed.

Worked example

Use Try example to compare two short paragraphs with one shared sentence, then change the phrase length to see how matching changes.

Does this search the internet?

No. It compares only the source text you paste. Websites, academic databases and other documents are not searched.

What does the percentage mean?

It is the share of words in your writing covered by matching phrases of the chosen length. Overlapping matches count once. Capitalization and punctuation are ignored.

Does a match prove plagiarism?

No. Common phrases and properly cited quotations can match. Review attribution and context yourself. A zero score does not prove originality, and paraphrased ideas may go undetected.

Is my writing uploaded?

No. Comparison runs in your browser. Text is not uploaded or saved by this tool.
