Worked example

“Hello” in ROT13 is “Uryyb”, and applying ROT13 again gives “Hello” back. Puzzle forums use it to hide spoilers.

Is ROT13 encryption?

No. It is a simple letter substitution anyone can reverse, useful only for hiding spoilers and puzzle answers.

What is ROT47?

ROT47 rotates all printable ASCII characters, including digits and punctuation, by 47 places.
