How to Use Zakat Calculator

Calculate the zakat due on your cash, gold, silver, investments and business wealth at 2.5%, using the gold or silver nisab threshold.

About this tool

Calculate the zakat due on cash, gold, silver, investments and business assets at 2.5%.

How to use Zakat Calculator

  1. Pick the gold or silver nisab standard and enter the current price per gram.
  2. Enter your cash, gold and silver, investments, business stock and anything owed to you.
  3. Enter debts due now, then read the zakat payable if you are above the nisab.

Worked example

With a silver price of $0.95/g, the nisab is about $582. Someone with $5,000 of net wealth is above it and owes 2.5%, which is $125.

What is the nisab?

The minimum wealth before zakat is due: the value of 87.48 g of gold or 612.36 g of silver. The silver nisab is lower, so many scholars use it for cash so more people qualify.

How much zakat do I pay?

The standard rate is 2.5% (one fortieth) of the net zakatable wealth you have held for one lunar year once it reaches the nisab.

Which assets count?

Cash, gold, silver, trade goods, and the zakatable share of investments and receivables you expect back. Everyday personal items such as your home and car are not counted.

Are my figures saved?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
