How to use the IP Location Lookup

Find the country, city, ISP and time zone of any IP address or domain.

  1. 1 Leave the box empty to see your own IP address, or enter an IP address or domain name.
  2. 2 Click Locate.
  3. 3 Read the location, network details and map. Treat the city as approximate.

Example and practical tips

Looking up 8.8.8.8 shows Google LLC in the United States with its ASN, AS15169. A VPN user who checks their own IP sees the VPN server’s location instead of their real one.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is IP geolocation?

Country is usually right, the city is often approximate and the street is never known. The database shows where the network is registered or routed, not a device’s GPS position.

Can I look up a website’s location?

Yes. Enter a domain and its IP address is looked up. Sites behind a CDN show the CDN’s location, not the origin server’s.
