How to use the PDF Watermark
Add a watermark to your PDF to mark it as a draft, confidential or your own work. Type any text, in any language, or upload a logo image, then choose the position, size, color, opacity and rotation, or repeat the watermark across the whole page. A live preview shows exactly how page one will look, and you can apply the watermark to all pages or only a page range. The PDF is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
- 1 Drop a PDF into the upload area. The first page appears as a live preview.
- 2 Choose Text or Image, then set the size, position or tiling, opacity and rotation. Enter a page range such as 1-3, 5 to watermark only some pages.
- 3 Click Add watermark & download, then open the new PDF to check every page.
Example and practical tips
Type DRAFT in red at 30% opacity and 45° in the center to mark a document under review, or upload your company logo at 25% width in the bottom-right corner for a subtle brand mark. For photos and portfolios, tick "Repeat across the whole page" so the watermark is harder to crop out.
Frequently asked questions
Can someone remove the watermark?
The watermark is added to the page content as an image, so it cannot be switched off like a comment. Someone with PDF editing software could still work to remove it, so a watermark discourages misuse rather than guaranteeing protection.
Does it work with non-English text?
Yes. Text watermarks are drawn as images, so Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, emoji and any other characters your device can display will appear correctly in the PDF.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The watermark is added by your browser and the new PDF is created on your device.
Will the original text stay selectable?
Yes. The original page content is left as it is, and the watermark is placed on top of it.
