How to use the Text Compare
Compare two texts or files side by side like Beyond Compare, with character-level highlights and jump-to-difference navigation.
- 1 Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right, or open or drop a file on each side.
- 2 Click Compare and choose side-by-side or inline view, word or character highlights, and the whitespace, case and blank line options.
- 3 Jump between differences with Next and Prev (or Alt + ↓ and Alt + ↑), and copy or download the result as a .diff file.
Example and practical tips
Comparing two versions of a contract highlights the exact words that changed inside each paragraph, such as “30 days” becoming “60 days”, instead of just marking the whole line.

Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are read and compared in your browser and never leave your device.
What does “Only differences” do?
It hides long runs of identical lines and keeps three lines of context around each change, which makes long files easier to review.
How is this different from the Text Diff Checker?
Text Compare pairs changed lines side by side, highlights the changed words or characters and adds file loading, navigation and patch export.
