How to use the Domain Availability Checker

Check whether a domain name is available to register across popular extensions.

  1. 1 Enter a name or a full domain such as mybrand.com.
  2. 2 Choose the extensions to check and click Check availability.
  3. 3 Register available names quickly at any registrar; taken names show their expiry date.

Example and practical tips

Checking “hivetools” may show .com taken but .io and .app available, giving you options before settling on a brand name.

Frequently asked questions

What does “Likely available” mean?

Some registries, such as .io and .co, do not offer public RDAP lookups. A name with no DNS records there is probably free, but confirm at a registrar.

Can an available name be premium?

Yes. Some short or valuable names are reserved or sold at a premium price even though they show as available.
