How to use the DMARC Checker
Look up and validate a domain's DMARC policy and explain every tag.
- 1 Enter the domain used in the From address of your emails.
- 2 Click Check DMARC to read the TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain.
- 3 Review the checks. p=none only monitors, while quarantine and reject actually protect the domain from spoofing.
Example and practical tips
A record of v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@example.com is valid but only collects reports. After a few weeks of clean reports, change p=none to p=quarantine.
Frequently asked questions
What does DMARC do?
DMARC tells receivers what to do with mail that fails SPF and DKIM alignment for your domain, and where to send reports about it.
What are rua and ruf?
rua receives daily aggregate reports about all mail using your domain; ruf receives individual failure reports, which many providers no longer send.
