How to Use Graphing Calculator

Plot up to five functions like sin(x), x^2 or 2x + 1 on an interactive graph. Zoom, pan and trace values by hovering over the curves.

About this tool

Plot one or more functions like sin(x) or x^2 on an interactive, zoomable graph.

How to use Graphing Calculator

  1. Type functions of x in the boxes, such as x^2/4 - 2.
  2. Drag to pan and scroll or use the buttons to zoom.
  3. Hover over the graph to read the value of every function at that x.

Worked example

Plot sin(x) and x/3 together and hover where they cross to estimate the solutions of sin(x) = x/3.

Which functions are supported?

Powers, roots, sin, cos, tan and their inverses, logarithms, exp, abs, floor, ceil and constants pi and e.

Why are there gaps in a curve?

Gaps appear where a function is undefined, such as 1/x at x = 0 or sqrt(x) for negative x.
