Test your left and right speakers or headphones with tones, adjustable frequency and waveform, and a 20 Hz to 20 kHz sweep to find your hearing range.
About this tool
Test your left and right speakers or headphones with tones and a frequency sweep.
How to use Speaker Test
- Turn your volume down, then click Left, Both or Right.
- Change the tone frequency, waveform and volume if you like.
- Play the sweep and note where the sound fades out.
Worked example
If the Left tone plays on the right, your headphones are on backwards or the speaker cables are swapped.
Why can’t I hear the high frequencies?
Most adults stop hearing somewhere between 14 and 17 kHz, and small speakers may not reproduce very low or high tones.
Is a loud test tone safe?
Keep the volume low, especially with headphones, as pure tones can be uncomfortable.
