Speaker Test
Test your left and right speakers or headphones with tones and a frequency sweep.
Turn your volume down before starting, especially with headphones.
If Left plays on the right, your speakers or headphones are swapped. During the sweep, note where the sound fades out: most adults stop hearing somewhere between 14 and 17 kHz.

Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I hear the high frequencies?
Most adults stop hearing somewhere between 14 and 17 kHz, and small speakers may not reproduce very low or high tones.
Is a loud test tone safe?
Keep the volume low, especially with headphones, as pure tones can be uncomfortable.
