Example and practical tips
A 12 × 10 ft kitchen with 12 × 24 in tiles needs about 67 tiles, or 9 boxes of 8, including 10% waste.
Frequently asked questions
How much extra tile should I buy?
10% for straight layouts and 15% for diagonal or herringbone, plus a box to keep for repairs.
Does grout width matter?
Slightly. Wider joints mean fewer tiles, and the calculator includes the gap.
